PARAPHRASE TELEGRAM from the Governor of the Straits

Settlements to the Secretary of State for the Colonies

Dated 3rd March, 1927.

(Received, Colonial Office, 11.37 a.m., 3rd March, 1927.)

Secret.

Chinese situation.

Your telegram of 22nd February.

Usually I should like a warship always to be

stationed here. But no emergency is now unticipated

in Balaya and as warship would be more valuable

in China I do not ask that one should remain in

Singanore.
